That was an excellent episode. I enjoyed Jane being brave and going undercover. It isn't something that he would have done in earlier seasons. I think Cho liked Summer, maybe not sexually but she understood him. Nice to see him almost smile. I think the husband and children's reaction was very true to life, somthing you don't see on other series.

Oh, I definitely think it was sexual between Cho and Summer. I mean, he practically gulped when she said "I could make you cry like a baby." And that scene when he cuffed her--they were both really affected by that. They got to each other. I think this could be epic in the start of a very complicated relationship. She is so smart, very intuitive. I hope we get her back story and maybe Cho, being the kind of guy to want to rescue damsels in distress, would try to get her out of that situation. I think he could really fall hard for her. But I'm really a confirmed romantic. And Jane and Lisbon were both great in this episode. Lots of wonderfully funny lines and situation. I laughed through the whole thing. My only complaint was that the RJ mention seemed tacked on at the end. I hope we get a good discussion next episode. Clearly, this episode was comic relief after the intensity of the last. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Billt, Summer is played by Samaire Armstrong. A very competent actor.Glad to read the comments upstairs. Made me come back to some semblance of normalcy. I watched this show with my friend, who is Not a Mentalist fan. She feels the writers constantly 'drop the ball' on crucial issues. After this ep we had a huge discussion, which in short, discombobulated me altogether. Anyhoo, regarding the way the writers dealt with the last, amazing ep: I'll leave that for a while. Don't think I can go there yet... So the scene between J, L and Agrocop at the crime scene. Did I miss something? The CBI has been CALLED IN on the case by the Sac PD. Agrocop is part of the Sac PD, yes? So why all the drama when J IDs the undercover cop quickly and accurately? Instead of throwing J against a wall, being furious with him for having the temerity to do his job, and spitting that the victim is an undercover cop and that fact has to remain secret, why didn't Agrocop simply inform J and L of that Crucial fact in the first place?? Like the CBI didn't have the right to know? They're working the case, for pity's sake. And telling L to 'keep your circus act under control' - what the? J has just done a brilliant job of IDing the woman, and the cop insults him for it? Bizarre. J was right, L should've had words with him. He was way out of line. So why didn't L defend J? Because Agrocop was grieving? Pfft. J mentioned her tiredness and lack of sleep earlier. * shrugs* So Cho and the pro. Very cute and quirky. Summer, CI looks to be a revolving-door character. I know we're meant to look upon Miss Summer with empathy and lack of judgement, because we're all Compassionate People, but my head keeps saying she nicked credit cards from a dead body... 1 out of 2 found this valuable. cont'd...then Used them; she lied to Cho in their first interview; admitted she'd snitch on her own mother to get cash money; then demanded a little courtesy from Cho, after he'd been rough with her. Well, sorry. How many times has Cho been rough with interviewees?? Hundreds? Yet Summer thinks she's entitled to some 'courtesy', I might add, while she's not mentioning the info that would save J's life. Then she gives up the info, in a gesture of Hurt and Judged Because I'm a Callgirl. Mah, I like her too, and there's obviously some sizzling chemistry between she and Cho, but buddy, stick with Elise. Summer's trubble, in the cutest possible way. I'm with donnamour and thought Summer's 'I could make you cry like a baby' was the best line in the ep. Hilarious scene. Cho and his bro: I adore Cho, especially when he's saving, defending and protecting Jane. See? He Lurves Jane!!! He'd scale the highest mountain, swim the roughest sea and all that. And as Miss Summer found, you don't mess with Cho when he's frantic about his bro. Then, with seconds of the ep left: 'It's time...We need to talk about Red John.' Jane runs away. You cannot be serious, writers. If this ep was a bit of 'light relief' then okay. I can wait. I recall a poster saying that on Twitter, the writers said there'd be a very meaningful scene between J and L. Surely it must be regarding 'The Talk.' If all we get out of that fabulous ep re Red John, is a 'talk', well...I just can't tell you...Disappointment and all that.... Waiting to see what the next eps bring.... Do you find this valuable? |

What if Summer later on gets herself involved in being an informant in an RJ case like she overhears something that involves RJ or his group? That could be a problem.

"What if Summer later on gets herself involved in being an informant in an RJ case like she overhears something that involves RJ or his group? That could be a problem."Eggsackery! Well the problem is that we don't know if Cho is even aware that RJ is alive yet!! AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or the rest of the team. Or the FBI, or the rest of the CBI, eg. Luther, the janitor etc., or the world at large... Are we to assume that , after the revelation at the Panzer crime scene, everyone knows? Tell it on the grapevine, you win some you lose some, we're over it and it's dust, get back to work...that kinda thing? OR Are we to assume that only Agent Darcy, Lisbon, and random cops at the crime scene know and are keeping it quiet. Protecting Jane's cred. Waiting to pounce on him. If it isn't too much trouble, writers, I'd quite like to know myself...and perhaps this side of never... @%^*(##$@!!^*&&($!!#**($#%^!%**&@@{1}+&*(@!!%&**_$^!!&%(*#@ Do you find this valuable? |

hypnoclue, my sentiments exactly!!!! I was so very upset at the end of this episode, I couldn't hardly remember the episode!!!! I get just plain mad everytime I think about it....Jane just running off like that and that's all the mention we get of RJ!You KNOW the team had to have talked about it, yet they go about this case as if 407 never happened! They did that last season too after RJ episodes and I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT!!! Anyone who has worked in an office with other people knows that is a subject that wouldn't just be overlooked or not talked about. I'll have to come back and talk about the main part of the episode later. Just know, hypnoclue, I feel your frustration! Do you find this valuable? |

Thank the godz, someone who knows my angst. Here's what my killjoy friend said about this ep and the show: Friend: So RJ is now up there with the worst of serial killers, having offed at least 29 victims. He should/would have National infamy by now, known in books on psychiatric deviance and through TV - many instances. So Patrick Jane kills this monster and is sensationally brought to trial. The jury is relieved he's ridden the world of such a worm and sets him free. All hail Patrick Jane. Now Jane should be a National hero, or at least, a National figure of notoriety. He ll, people should be writing songs about his feats. He should be legend. So when it's discovered that oops, J didn't kill RJ at all, it's obvious there's going to be an almighty carpstorm, Somewhere. This Can't be kept secret for long. After that amazing last ep, there will be consequences. But no. In the very next ep - the one we're hanging for, expecting to see this inevitable hitting of the fan - the writers decide instead, to take a detour into fairy floss land and play semantics with the upper female anatomy. They do this because... WHY????????????????????? My articulate response: Well hold on, have some faith. This ep was just a bit of light relief. In the next cuppla eps, all will be explained. The writers can't drop the ball on this. It's too big. (Behind my back, fingers crossed to deformity.) Friend: You mean like the other times they haven't dropped the ball, and left you hanging in mid air with a deflated parachute around your ears? Oh sorry, I forgot. L is getting around to having a little 'talk' with J about it. THAT'LL make it all right. THAT'S all it needs... Debate over. My solution: * Never watch TM with my friend again. * Expect nothing - saves disappointment. Do you find this valuable? |

Okay so now that I've calmed down and become human again - I can't stay mad with the writers for long, even if I wanted to, since they gave me this deliciously lurvely show in the first place - there are two points to clarify:1. Sergeant Agrocop was indeed not part of the Sac PD I think, but the Undercover Drug Squad? Even so, he Knew the CBI was on its way - 'you're the CBI' - der - so he knew they would be running the case. In short, same point applies as above. 2. If Cho gets 'involved' with Ms. Summer won't that be a no-no? CIs are off limits aren't they? Forbidden territory and all that. See ep 108. Besides, Cho is like the strong man of the unit. Integrity. morality, decency, the glue and all that... Dunno if I really want to see him burn it up with CI Summer. I hope it's a little more like J and L - all show and no go... Well, I haven't actually seen Pink Tops yet but I just wanted to comment on what Janescat wrote, the episode titles are predominately ones with "Red" in them, obviously we've all noticed that a LONG time ago LOL, but they can also be variations of red, like scarlet, crimson, carmine or carnelian and therefore, as Dalia pointed out, they can be a colour which is produced using red, so that's why there can be an episode with pink in the title. Personally, I love it when they have an episode with pink in the name, as I really love pink :o)Amanda :o) Do you find this valuable? |

Most of the time I would watch an epi over & over...especially during a two week time of no new episodes. However, this one just left a bad taste in my mouth and it will take more time than this for me to get over it. Hiya Princess,I feel your pain. I couldn't believe it when that wonderful Red John ep. was allowed to sink into oblivion, without one intelligent reference being made to it. L's two-second comment that, 'we have to talk about Red John', was laughable. As was J's taking off to avoid said talk. I didn't know if I was watching the CBI in action, or the Keystone Cops. Anyhoo, my remedy: * Go back to some of the old favourite eps and enjoy them. * Mentally sack the writers and make up your own storylines. (I dunno if some of them have writers' block, but they need a break. Or a muse. When we reckon We could write better plots, then they're in trouble.) * Grab a glass of wine and simply enjoy the gorgeousness of Simon Baker. That gentle voice... those elegant hands...that physical grace... Did I say that out loud? Or you could always throw something at the teev. It worked for me, hehe. Do you find this valuable? |

Did anyone else notice that Pink Tops and Redshirts, tonights episode, are sort of the same thing? You wear pink tops, and you wear red shirts.I remember someone figured out Pink was an old nickname for anyone named Patrick, making a pair out of Red John and Pink Jane, that's similar to Redshirts and Pink Tops. Also, I found one reference online to a form of heroin called pink top. As Patrick was pocketing drugs, maybe that's the literal explanation. Do you find this valuable? |
