It was fun meeting Lisbon's brother and niece. I loved how Jane taught Annie how to pick pockets. Grace was acting more normal this week, will it last? Jane was so clever planting evidence and figuring out who was the murderer. It was an excellent episode and as usual I enjoyed it.

Another very very good episode. The writers get better as it goes, imho.We have learned a tad about Rigsby’s past. Some about Choe. More about Jane. I think it was a great idea to shed light on Lisbon’s background/family. It was fun. Jane saw she was angry and asked her to talk about what was really on her mind. When Lisbon began to rant Jane said, “Here we go.” I laughed at that part as Lisbon became more angry as she talked. Van Pelt? When do we learn about her—other than her dad coached football, and that possibly she had a sister that committed suicide (based on the episode where Jane gets hit in the head with the baseball and Van Pelt talks a lady out of killing herself by saying her sister did that, then telling Rigsby she didn’t really have a sister—I think what she told that lady came to easy to make up). Seems like Jane told Lisbon long ago that there was something that had caused trauma in Van Pelt's past, but I may be wrong. Pardon my spelling errors. I'm new. Hello. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. About VanPelt...she was more normal this week. But you can see how her hurt is eating away at her. She actually has much in common with Jane now: Red John messing with her life and turning her world up-side-down. I really think that is why Jane was compelled to help her go after Zubov, or as VP would say, the "scumbag." Do you find this valuable? |

Hi hecksbells, welcome to the site! It's not very updated as of late. We're not sure what happened to the moderators. I'm still her, at least for a while, hoping people will come back. This is clearly the best Mentalist forum. Anywho, I'm glad you're here!I really enjoyed this episode. I have always wanted to know more about Lisbon and we got plenty of the Lisbon family in this episode. I loved Tommy (the little boy from E.T.) and I really enjoyed Annie, who wants to be just like her Aunt. But as much as I enjoyed the family dynamics in this episode, I think there were clearly two more important themes: The first is that of Jane as the "problem fixer." He worked out of the lime light and sometimes behind the scenes to fix problems. Jane helped VanPelt with her urge to make someone pay, by setting up Zubov so that he could be arrested. Jane orchestrated the case so that it would maximize the closeness of the Lisbon and her family. With Jane missing his family, I believe he wants Lisbon to have the family connection he can never have. How sweet, right?!! Jane also worked the case so that Tommy could take O'Brien back and be helped financially. We're seeing Jane work in ways to benefit others as opposed to his usual working to benefit himself with the Red John case. Big change!! The second important theme of this episode is to show how Lisbon interacts with her brother. Why is this important? There are many, many Pro-Jisbon fans out there and we really want Lisbon and Jane to get together sometime...eventually. But when this idea has been brought to Simon Baker's attention he always smiles and says something like, but what if they are more like brother and sister, eh? continued below.... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. With this episode we saw that Lisbon USED to treat Jane very much like she treats her brother Tommy. She has that motherly...telling you what to do thing, she raises her voice, curses at you, wants the best for you and is willing to TELL YOU ABOUT IT!! This is how she USED to treat Jane. But Season 4 has brought us this quieter, more caring Lisbon who just "gets" Jane. There is a huge difference and I believe this is the VERY EARLY beginnings to Jisbon; at least from the Lisbon side! I really liked this episode and cannot wait for the next one!! Do you find this valuable? |

Hiya Princess and all,So. This episode wasn't one of my faves. Probably because I blinked and missed SB. Bu gger. Aspects I enjoyed, were that J knows L so well, '...but that's not what you want to talk about' and 'There we go.' Very sweet, allowing the vent. Aw. Don't know that I liked Lisbon turning into a chipmonk with her rant, but amusant nonetheless. Funny that they both retreated to their respective corners of the ring, after their domestic. Aw. Liked that precocious Annie wants to emulate Aunty Reese. Aw. And that J was teaching her how to be a pickpocket. Aw. And that J found a way for VP to get a little payback on the slimy MAN- bar steward. Aw. And the mooshy sibling scene at the end. Aw. All in all, an aw-dinary ep, which did NOT give us much more insight into the Lisbon family, having teased us with this possibility. I hold the writers directly accountable for my understandable disappointment. We still don't know the third brother's name - is that right or did it just go through to the keeper? - and I'm wondering if it's John. Even worse, we already knew the Lisbons were dysfunctional. Ho hum. Tell us something we Don't know - and I mean that literally. Perfect opportunity and those pesky writers just skirted the issue again. All in all, I felt this ep was the lull before the storm, the calm before the calamity, the frothnbubble before the fan-hit. And having just watched next ep's promo, this appears to be the case. Ha. Finished without once calling surrogate L, Mother Teresa. Do you find this valuable? |

Princess, this is my own little theory on the reason L is becoming all soft and acquiescent these days. She thinks J has killed RJ. In her mind, it's over. J can now get on with his life. She's hoping this life includes her and she's taking subtle steps to see it does. Simplistic I know...This is not necessarily My perspective btw. I don't particularly have to see them together; and only at the end if it's going to be. I still see J with someone far more feminine and refeened. Sorry shippers, just another opine. And I definitely see and understand your pov. Do you find this valuable? |
