Jisbon - to be, or not to be?

So what do you guys thing...? I think there's definately chemistry between these two characters, but would it ruin it if they actually got together? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I'd personally love to have it happen! Not too soon, but I think it'd be sweet. For now, their flirtatious banter is enough for me, but I wouldn't mind if they got together at all. I don't think it'll happen too soon, because then Jane wouldn't be able to flirt with her and have that kind of personality with her as much if they were a couple. Besides, half the fun of watching TV relationships is watching the progress they must go through before/if they become a couple! (For instance, watching the first kiss... it's gotta be good and just right! After the first kiss, most of the kisses don't get the viewer's-our-heart's beating as much with anticipation or squealing giddly with glee.) It probably won't neccessarily be in the first season, but I think-and would like- for it to happen eventually. Do you find this valuable?

if Lisbon and Jane finally, FINALLY are together i think that would be some kind of obviously "Second Stage" between them.
I mean, we all see that they have chemistry and have feellings for each other, for some reason we all are expecting a kiss or something! XD
Maybe we can think that would be ruin everything or think that is a weird idea because we are use to see them just flirting or in a colleagues-relationship...yet
I trust in the writers and i´m sure that they will make them the most cute couple ever in a very natural way

And we also have to remember he's still wearing his wedding ring. I think before anything happened the show would have to deal with his wife and his feelings surrounding her. I love Jibson but I'm all for waiting. It'll make the show last longer. Do you find this valuable?

I agree; Jane still has some serious (not to sound insensative) "issues". I don't think he is ready to be involved with anyone...maybe someday...

Yes and no.

There are the three things in the way at present

1. Patrick is still married to his wife and not ready to let go and move on with anyone yet.
2. Anyone Patrick shows an interest in could become a target for Red John - not a situation that Patrick would willingly create.
3.. If they get together too soon it would be the end of the series - Moonlighting finished once they'd got together - and we want the series to go on and on and on.....

So - in summary - yes eventually I'd love to see them together - but in the short term - no.

All very valid points...but I really wonder if it would be so bad fo the series if they got together...I never watched "Moonlighting", but I am huge fan of "The X-Files" and when Mulder and Scully finally got to gether, it made me want to watch the show even more! I think the key is to be subtle about it. We don't want them being all lovy-dovy around each other.

Either way, I like the show and will continue to watch it regardless of what Jane and Lisbon do (or don't) get upto behind closed doors ;)

I'm a huge Jisbon fan, but the second they get together (if the writers and Mr. Heller decide to do that), the show will be ruined. I can feel it :) It's the banter and flirtatiousness that makes the whole Jisbon dynamic so incredibly fun to watch! Do you find this valuable?

Remember the psychiatrist that had helped Jane when his wife and daughter were first murdered? He and she had some flaming sparks in that episode but Jane never gave in to any feeling he may or may not have had for her.

Jacqui is right, Anyone Jane has an intrest in could be a potential target for Red John, that alone makes him keep his hands to himself--mores the pity.

Maybe in the future seasons but right now I don't think Patrick is ready for somebody new since his wife and daughter are dead. Do you find this valuable?

I totally agree with Melissa - I think he isn't ready for somebody in his life.
But I also read an interview with Robin Tunney where she said that they will be more like family in the second season... Whatever that means.
Personally I think that there should definitely not be a Jisbon on the show - it's good as it is an I think it's a lot funnier if there is no Jisbon...

"Really? What interview is this?"
I've looked it up - it wasn't really an interview...
In the TV Guide of Jan 19th there was a pic with Simon and Robin from the People's Choice Award and with it Robin's comment on the show's second season: 'The dynamics of the team change a little bit and my character's relationship with Simon's gets a little bit less contentious. [...] We become more familial'

I think that first, there is a chemistry, but then, second, they can't follow up on it because, y' know, the regulations, working in the same department.
Third, I think it would take 2 more seasons for something to form ... when the actors are committed to the movie, and it would be logical, for the series to last... :-)

lol NOOO
its not gonna happen
Jane is NEVER going to have a relationship on show
wanna know why?
cuz the whole show is pretty much about him recovering from and trying to catch the person who murdered his wife and daughter.
well not the whole show.. but A LOT of it
if hes so traumatized and pissed off
well he wudnt be able to have another girlfriend/wife
its not gonna happen...
