i think that the writers do not know who red john is but i also think that when they reveal his identity (if they do) it should be someone who has already been in the show from the first season.
i think it would be good if they stopped after 2 or 3 seasons and had a big build up to the unveiling of red john and that would be an end to the show.
i absolutely love the show but it is a little to formulaic to go on for too many seasons.

So, should Red John's identity be revealed?. How should the show end?

I like Patrick Jane just fine. Bringing in someone who doesn't like Jane or respect him throws off the feel from last year. He is being pushed out and he is the most important character of the team. The tone is just different this year. I think the show is heading in the wrong direction. Having him deal with this jerk is annoyoing. Change it back.
