(Like all things I write, currently unfinished)
(*note* this family is made up...I just wanted to give Jane a family!!!!!)
(Synopsis: The team is called to investigate a very personal murder...the death of Jane's older brother. Whilst there Jane has memories of his family)

All was quiet in the CBI office. The team sat on their chairs (of couch) and waited for somehting intresting to happen. finally the silence was broken by the ring of a phone. Jane sighed and without even glancing at the phone he ignored the call.

Everyone gave small look at him but said nothing.


"I can't believ it," Alex said stepping away from the phone. "He didn't answer.

"Of course he didn't. It's J-J, when does he answer us?" Charlie said.

"He used to," she told him.

"Maybe he doesn't like us anymore," Eric suggested.

Alex stared at him. "Not like us!? It's unheard of!"

"Here look at this," Charlie said holding a laptop up to them.

"Think it'll work?" Alex asked grabbing the phone and looking at the computer screan.

"It's worth a try," Eric said shrugging.

"Ok then," Alex said dialing the number and waiting for a response.


Lisbon was sitting at her desk, trying to work, but not really having anything to do, when her phone rang. "Lisbon," she answered.

"Yes um, is this Agent Lisbon of the CBI?" Alex asked trying to soudn professional.

"Yes," Lisbon said a bit confused.

"Well, I need to speak to J, I mean Patrick Jane please. It is very important," Alex said boucing around a bit in her kitchen.

"Who is this?"

Alex was silent for a second. "Ya know, does it really matter who it is!? I mean if someone says it's important then it's important! Come on woman people could die!?"

"That was a little much," Eric said.

"Ya think?" Alex asked.

"Whatever," Lisbon got up and walked to Jane who was lying down.

"Oh hello Lisbon," he greeted opening his eyes.

"Some one for you, says it's important," She told him holding the phone out.

"Well they lie," he replied.

"J-J WHY DON'T YOU LOVE US ANYMORE!" Alex screamed loud enough to make the rest of the team look over.

Jane sighed and took the phone from Lisbon.

"Whoever said I did?" he asked as the team pretened to do work but were actually listening.

Alex gave the phone to Eric.

"Are you happy now mister!?" Eric said as Alex and Charlie started to laugh quietly. "You made a young girl cry."

"I have feeling you're lying," he told them.

"Oh 'cause you just know everything don't you!?" Charlie said grabbing the phone from Eric.

"Kids what's going on in here?" Mike asked walking into the room.

"Nothing they said in unison hanging up the phone.

"You haven't been talking to Patrick now have you?" he asked looking at them.

"Dad please, we would never," Alex said walking out of the room with Eric and Charlie following.

Jane closed the phone when they hung up. "Here you are," he said handing it back to Lisbon.

"What was that about?" Lisbon asked.
