Patrick Jane and the team investigate the murder of a mayor's aide, and Rigsby and Van Pelt make a big announcement.

- Chief Donner (about Jane whose leaning down, smelling the body of the victim): "Is he sniffing her?"
- Lisbon: "Yes."
- Chief Donner: "You pay him to sniff people?"
- Jane (sniffing Chief Donner): "Cheap soap, unironed shirts, stomach pains, recent loss of weight. I'm gonna take a wild guess here. Your angry and unhappy because your living in a motel because your wife found out about the woman your having an affair with, that you don't even care for. You're a seething mass of self-loathing and understandably so. "
- Chief Donner (reaching for Jane): "You son of a *****."
- Jane hightails it and runs away before the Chief can touch him.....
- Lisbon (to Jane): "I swear sometimes I think you need medication. It's like you got ADD or something."
- Jane: "Well (A), I'm not so sure ADD even exists and (B) I was winding her (Mayor Melba Shannon) up for a reason.
- (Cho's interview for the TV documentary....)
- Cho: "Why am I a detective? Why are you a reporter?"
- Mike: "What?"
- Cho: Why are you making this documentary?"
- Mike: "It's a fresh perspective on law enforcement."
- Cho: Nah, I mean what's in it for you?"
- Mike: Uh, scoring this exclusive is a good way to get noticed."
- Cho: So your ambitious. How long you been doing the news here?"
- Mike: "About 8 years."
- Cho: "Anchor?"
- Mike: "Mostly field work."
- Cho: "So, you're ambitious but you haven't gotten very far?"(Rigsby laughs behind his computer screen. The cameraman, Steve, laughs behind the camera.)
- Mike: "I guess that's about it, yeah. You don't like being asked questions. The team as a whole seems to have a problem with that."
- Cho: "Is that a question?"
- (PR woman, Brenda, sends Mike and Steve off for coffee and food then bends down at Cho's desk.)
- Brenda: "Agent Cho, it is the specific request of the Deputy AG that your unit cooperate fully with the media."
- Cho: "What's your point?"
- Mayor Shannon (to Lisbon about Jane): "Are all CBI Agents this incompetent? Have you even bothered to check her lover as a suspect?"
- Jane: "First you say it was Jasper, now it's the lover that did it. Are you going to make up your mind?
- Jane takes Mike and Steve out for a taco. A van pulls up and they grab Jane and take off with him.
- Mike (to Steve): "Get that, yeah?"
- Cameraman Steve holds up his taco, showing he doesn't have his camera.
- Jane (to Jasper who has just kidnapped him to send a message of his innocence): "I see you mean business. There's no need for firearms, I'm not Harry Houdini."

Who gave themselves away to Patrick Jane...?
Who did it: Reporter, Mike Brewster
How: He stabbed Martha because she had news that Mayor was corrupt. She didn't give it to him and he felt she should have, it would have made his career.
What gave them away: During the filming of the ground breaking, Mike was caught on film looking away from the camera before Martha's body was uncovered.
