@JanelsGod: First of all, the writers have in my opinion already written themselves into a corner concerning RJ. They made him too "powerful", and they have written too many non connected loose threads for him. This guy can manipulate anyone into dying for him for no apparent reason, he can assassinate anyone under the nose of the government, hack government databases, he has contacts everywhere. So at this point 80% of fans at least will be dissapointed when he is revealed. (Thats why I thought the season 3 ending would have been a beautiful ending to the show, because we should not get the mystery of RJ be explained, it will just be dissapointing). I would actually prefer Jane being RJ over anyone else we know in the series by now, at least it would make more sense (No logical explanation for RJ really works anyways). One thought I had was that maybe Jane killed the original RJ shortly after his family was killed, but since he still couldnt cope with the loss he created an alter ego he could continue to chase, at least then his real self would still have revenge. And by the way just mentioning Fight Club for you should make you understand how Jane being RJ could be pulled off beautifully.... Anyways, Jane isnt really an optimal solution either, no character in the show is, and thats why I was so dissapointed when they copped out and didnt end the show at the season 3 finale.

He is not Minelli, at least i don't think so. Whilst it is plausable and no hints have really been made at it so if it happened the 12+ million viewers would be like "OMG" as we know him well but would never suspect him but i just can't see it. maybe during the beginning of season 2 i could, especially when he left just as Bosco and his team were killed in season 2 episode 8 i think, may look a bit suspicious but look at the season 3 episode 'Jolly Red Elf', Jane goes to Minelli for help in he RJ case and Minelli pulls some strings, and he actually looked disgusted with himself when Jane called him a "drunken fish killer". I don't think it is him. BUT! if it was, would be quite the reveal and the faces on Lisbon and the rest of the team would give me goosebumps.

Then, this theory, formulated long ago, deserves to be examined. This man is left-handed (as, maybe, Roy Tagliaferro when drinks), he's 35-40 years, in red shirt and the expression is strange. The actor was also recalled for subsequent shots. Among other background only other man in red, appears in the 4x01. He's in a red circle-shaped target, subliminal message, as if to say, Jane has missed the mark. He drinks tea, has skin darker than Jane, looks tanned, almost like a Latin or Mediterranean man (as some Italians, remember the name of "Tagliaferro", maybe it's connected to the restaurant "da Giorgio" where is Jane with Kristina.). Who is this actor, who appears twice, in a gray suit, the same place, the bar of the CBI in The Red Shirt 4x09? O plays two different characters, or is it an indication of the authors, if there is maybe working as a clerk of the CBI or the morgue.
In framing the most studied (see 4x07, for example) sometimes there are just symbols or subtle non-verbal messages (not strange theories, of course, but relative to the plot). In the scene that Bruno Heller has called crucial for the season 4, 3x23 in the mall, look different red shirts, some skulls, and a target of advertising or spot in the newspaper read by Carter: "apparel clearance" which can be read as message to the double meaning of the authors: "the clarity (explanation) is in the apparel (the red shirt)". Then there's the close-up view of the cup of RSRJ.

I believe Red John is a leader of a religious group and "Red John`s friends" are his followers... Using religion is easier to convince people to suicide, like Red John did several times.

AngryLittlePrincess, when Bruno Heller indicates that there was nervousness that someone may recognize Red John, he is implying that Red John is not easy to see - that he is not out in the open and that he is in disguise, but that if you look carefully at the features you can discern a recognizable previous character. This fits Black Hat Red Shirt Red John perfectly.

On another related topic, it has always been our feeling that the scrawled words in blood "He is man" is simply a mispelling of the first three letters of Minelli. If you asked anyone how to spell the name Minelli with the spelling of the show everyone would reply "Manilla" unless they specifically knew the odd spelling used in the show.

I think you are going to deep into it, RJ is just a human being! He can't do supernatural things
I don't think the real RJ is still alive, but his accomplices and assassins still are and they will want to ruin Jane's life

All the clues are there. She seems to be Red John. But I have problems with that. For one thing it would be waaay too obvious. Second all the accomplices have been calling Red John 'he'. And i don't believe that red John, as confident as that person is, would pretend to be male if he was not male. Also, how does that work with the blind Harker woman? War ray Trefegiliaro a woman, and Harker was gay? Nope. Its not working. Do you think zkristina convinced a blind woman she was a man????

I believe Red John is Patrick Jane. The name Red John can be broken down. The first part Red can be and usually is associated with blood, violence and murder. The word John.was used after the ameican psycholgist John B Watson who established the psychological school of behaviorist and wrote the behaviorist manifesto. Patrick Jane is a schizo. It reminds me of the movie with Robert DeNiro and Dakota Fanning in Hide. And Seek. With a split personality Jane should be able still to manipulate or brainwash people. Probrably why RJ killed the sherriff who knew, not a weak mind as RJ thought. The next person you will see as working for red john is officer Brett Partridge. Why not have someone you don't like bid your work

The reflection in the computer screen need not belong to a brother. The Mentalist explores alll kinds of syncs and special FX that belong to the hypertext of reality itself..

PJ may have soulmate or a double. Many people have discovered they have a double - someone who looks like them, thinks like them and even has the same birthday. The double is the other self.

How weird is that? The fact that some folk have discovered they do have a double is a fact of high weirdnes . And if anyone would have a double and discover they have a double, it would certainly be the PJ character.

If the story goes down this path, RJ found out about it via tv and was offended. When PJ addressed him directly and made him a bit character in his psychic schtick, RJ resolved to take matters in hand. Since RJ is a fully realized psychopath there is no way RJs decision could be a good one for PJ.

Television, computer, electronic surveillance technology are all means of remote viewing. No one who is in the eye of this apparatus knows who may be viewing and for what purpose. The dark side of this technology is v much like the forest of night in the Blake poem. The subject who is captured in the light of this technology by being televised (or writing on the internet) etc is a proverbial tethered goat. And I am sure that is why the sociopathocracy makes such extensive use of surveillance and is weaponizing it.

It would be interesting if RJ saw PJ on tv and realized that he had a double.
And the more PJ pursues the identity of RJ using the methods he has discovered he is capable of using - the more like him he becomes. That is a spiritual law. No one could make that up. The script either uses it or ignores it to its detriment.

When Boscoe has his final word with PJ, it is clear that the path of vengeance and the path of redemption have converged. On this path anyone can become capable of anything.
